Florida Athletics Partners With CAMPUS for Fan Engagement & NIL Solutions
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - August 19, 2022 - (Newswire.com)
The University of Florida Athletics Department announced today an "all-in" partnership with CAMPUS to elevate its fan experience and provide NIL solutions for student-athletes. CAMPUS, co-founded by Gators legend Tim Tebow, provides a turnkey NIL solution for athletic departments and student-athletes that upgrades fandom by creating new VIP experiences for fans.
"We believe this will be a game-changer for our football program to lead the nation in the NIL resources available to our student-athletes," said Florida head football coach Billy Napier. "I'm calling for all Gators fans to join CAMPUS and support our student-athletes, which will be critical as we strive to return our program to its championship tradition."
CAMPUS provides media, marketing, e-commerce and tech services to universities and athletes to sell Tokens (NFTs) featuring the school and/or athlete, which "unlock" special access to digital or real-life experiences that appeal to fans. Limited-edition CAMPUS Tokens featuring individual Florida student-athletes and groups of student-athletes will be released at CAMPUS.io throughout the upcoming football season. Each Token comes with exclusive ownership benefits and can even be re-sold on CAMPUS' marketplace, providing additional opportunities for the athlete to earn NIL income.
"CAMPUS is an outstanding solution for our athletic department to set the standard in NFTs and NIL support for student-athletes," said Florida director of athletics Scott Stricklin. "Giving our fans the best experience is essential and CAMPUS's approach and technology give us new and exciting ways to engage Gator Nation."
To start, fans can visit CAMPUS.io to register for a CAMPUS account. New student-athlete Tokens will "drop" each week throughout the season but each has a limited scarcity, meaning fans will need to visit CAMPUS.io consistently and act quickly to get the Tokens they want for their Program. As a fan, you can add Tokens to Build Your Program and move up CAMPUS Leaderboards which also helps Florida build its programs to move up in national rankings. Partnering with CAMPUS gives both current and potential student-athletes another compelling reason why Florida is an attractive choice for their college experience. Each time a Token featuring a student-athlete is sold, that student-athlete receives an instant royalty payment.
"Just how new tech led to a better gameday experience at The Swamp and new tech led to better behind-the-scenes content on social media, the new tech we're using will lead to better access and more memorable moments for fans," said CAMPUS co-Founder and CEO Christine Menedis. "We're empowering everyone involved. CAMPUS gives fans an opportunity to directly impact their team's roster in a way never before possible."
"I'm so pumped for how my alma mater is going to benefit from CAMPUS," said Tebow. "Gator Nation is going to love collecting these Tokens and receiving all the benefits they unlock."

Solar Cannabis Co. Creates ‘Team Green’ to Raise Funds to Run 50th Falmouth Road...
SOMERSET, Mass. - August 18, 2022 - (Newswire.com)
Today, Solar Cannabis Co. (Solar) announced its "Team Green" runners participating in the 50th Falmouth Road Race raised a $13,500 donation to Dana-Farber Cancer Institute (Dana-Farber), a world leader in adult and pediatric cancer treatment and research.
In support of the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, employees of Solar created "Team Green," who will be participating in the 50th running of the historical Falmouth Road Race on Aug. 21, 2022. Team Green, which comprises 11 runners, banded together to create a first-of-its-kind, cannabis-industry race team and successfully helped raise a $13,500 donation to aid in Dana-Farber's mission to defy cancer. Dana-Farber is renowned as one of the leading cancer treatment and research institutions in the Northeast and provides adults and children battling cancer the very best treatment available today while developing tomorrow's cures through cutting-edge research.
"We are so humbled and couldn't be more grateful for the funds raised by Team Green runners and the donations we received from a mix of amazing friends, family, and partners," said Derek Gould, Director of Marketing and Communications at Solar Cannabis Co.
Solar's employees conceptualized Team Green to not only generate funds and awareness for Dana-Farber's mission, but also raise awareness of cannabis' positive role in mitigating - or even removing - cancerous symptoms and side effects of various cancer treatments. All of Team Green's fundraising will be donated to Dana-Farber's "Unrestricted Funds" program for their patients. These funds cover any procedures or treatments or treatment aids that are not covered by traditional insurance and make a daily difference in the care, comfort, and life of each and every patient.
"There are so many people that have been directly impacted by cancer in one way or another," said Gould. "To be able to deliver this donation to Dana-Farber and support their mission to defy cancer is truly a remarkable feat that we couldn't have done alone."
In addition to the funds raised by Team Green runners, other support and donations included Solar Cannabis Co., Hub International, BayCoast Bank, Advance Manufacturing Co., Corporate Image Apparel, The American Legion, Last Prisoner Project, MassEON, and The South Coast LGBTQ+ Network. Following the 50th running of the Falmouth Road Race, Solar will be hosting a finish line after-party at the Falmouth Raw Bar, which will feature food, beverages, and more.

Annual Outerknown Tahiti Pro Opening Ceremony Signals What’s to Come for Paris 2024 Olympic...
PAPEETE, French Polynesia - August 16, 2022 - (Newswire.com)
Future site of the surfing competition for the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, the village of Teahupo'o, on the island of Tahiti, opened its annual surf competition Outerknown Tahiti Pro (Aug. 11-21) with cultural ceremonies and dance, remarks from several dignitaries, and representatives of the local and international surf communities.
Occurring in just two short years, the Paris 2024 Olympic Games provide a global spotlight on the most iconic swell in the Polynesian islands and one of the most famous in the world, the wave at Teahupo'o, legendarily one of "the deadliest waves in the world." At the competition, local surfers will challenge global competitors in their home surf, in the Polynesian islands where the sport was invented. The event will be a cultural milestone for the people of French Polynesia, also known as The Islands of Tahiti.
The swelling of national pride was present at the opening day's event as government Minister of Youth and Sports Naea Bennett took the stage.
"We are proud to welcome the world elite of surfing — these 36 athletes including 12 women who will give us, without a doubt, an extraordinary spectacle during this competition. We are proud to have among the world surfing elite children of Fenua (our country)," declared Bennett. "Surfing, this Polynesian sport, is recognized worldwide and has been included in the program of the 2024 Olympic Games."
World Junior Championship winner and Tahitian local Vahine Fierro, 22, was in attendance alongside veteran Tahitian surfing icons Michel Bourez and Kauli Vaast, named as the "children of Fenua" noted in the speech.
Teahupo'o, the Paris 2024 Olympic Games site, will soon welcome the arrival of Tony Estanguet, President of the Organizing Committee of the Olympic Games (OCOG) of 2024.
The wave at Teahupo'o will be the 10th and last stage of the World Tour within the framework of the professional world championships organized by the World Surf League (WSL). Indeed, this legendary wave (sometimes surging as high as 50 feet) inspires awe and fear in even the most elite surfers with its unparalleled power and menacing reef break.
"We are proud to have been chosen by the Organizing Committee of the 2024 Olympic Games to host the surfing events," Bennett also remarked.
Surfing, due to the wonder it inspires, has become an important economic activity in The Islands of Tahiti through retail sales of products but also the many surf schools run by educators in the discipline. It is also an important cultural export, providing a sense of pride and showcasing the athleticism and symbiosis with nature that is embodied by the Polynesian people.
"Long live surfing, long live sport and long live French Polynesia," concluded Bennett.

Solar Cannabis Co. Announces Inaugural ‘Solar Invitational’ Disc Golf Tournament and B2B Networking Event...
SOMERSET, Mass. - August 5, 2022 - (Newswire.com)
Solar Cannabis Co. (Solar) today announced its inaugural "Solar Invitational" Disc Golf Tournament and Cannabis Industry Networking Event at Maple Hill in Leicester, MA on Thursday, Sept. 15, 2022, from 2-8 p.m.
Solar (a leading vertically integrated cannabis operator in the State of Massachusetts) is set to launch its very own "Solar Invitational" - a cannabis industry disc golf tournament at Maple Hill, the world's top-rated course. The event will welcome all industry operators, vendors and advocates to partake in a scramble-style tournament while enjoying a cannabis-friendly environment with a wide variety of local food and beverage vendors and live music.
"We couldn't be more proud to bring a first-of-its-kind event centered around disc golf and cannabis to the greater Worcester community," said Edward Dow, CEO of Solar Cannabis Co. "We wanted to create a unique experience that would be inclusive of all operators, vendors and supporters within the cannabis industry and build it around a day of fun and competitive disc golf play."
The inaugural Solar Invitational is aimed to defy the stereotypical corporate outings and B2B networking events. Competition play is a mixed foursome comprising 18 total teams on Maple Hill's intermediate "reds course." There will be no shortage of opportunities to engage with high-minded individuals from all areas of the industry. Every attendee is guaranteed to leave with new, genuine connections, good conversation, some laughs, and a larger network.
"I really believe there's a distinct connection between cannabis and disc golf," said Dow. "We want everyone that will be attending to enjoy a relaxed, cannabis-friendly environment with great vendors, food and drink and live entertainment. Even if they choose to not participate in the tournament, they're going to have a great time and leave with some new connections within the industry."
The disc golf movement, which has been known to have evolved from the "hippie culture" in Southern California nearly 40 years ago, is now an established sport with millions of players and massively attended national and international tournaments. Over its evolution, the nature of the game has created an inclusive and casual sport where individuals who tend to seek an alternative to "the links" can play a more laid-back, but competitive game.
Those who wish to participate in the Solar Invitational disc golf tournament, inquire about sponsorship, or become a vendor can learn more here.
