A group of 9/11 family members and survivors from the organization 9/11 Justice will hold a press conference vocalizing their objections to the Saudi Arabian-funded LIV Golf series and its tournament being held at the nearby Trump National Doral Golf Club on October 28-30.

The 9/11 family members will address their views and contentions, which include:

- The Saudi government's role in supporting the 9/11 terrorist attacks, including about recently declassified FBI investigative documents;
- The implications of Saudi efforts to "sportswash" its egregious past; 
- The willing complicity of professional golfers choosing to take Saudi payouts and look the other way on the country's reported human rights abuses and role in the worst terrorist attacks on American soil.

"As yet another Saudi-funded golf tournament takes place in America this week, Americans must understand that this LIV Golf series, hosted next at Trump Doral, is yet another attempt by the Kingdom to use the beloved game of golf to sportswash its abhorrent behavior and avoid accountability for the murder of my dad and thousands of others," said Brett Eagleson of 9/11 Justice. The first weeklong Women's Golf Day (WGD) Celebration drew to a close as the last event finished at Moorea Green Pearl Golf Club in French Polynesia on Tuesday evening, the 6th of June. More women and girls were able to access these celebratory events in 2023 than ever before given the new weeklong format and the increase in the number of participating countries and venues. Over 1,300 locations in 84 countries have hosted WGD. Starting with WGD Palooza Digital Day and the NYSE Opening Bell, the celebration continued throughout the week. New and existing female golfers around the globe dressed in red and white to share their experiences on social media with a collective joy that perhaps can only be measured in smiles.

"Every year, we work to increase the number of facilities that host Women's Golf Day and it was very exciting to welcome the 139 courses from Japan and watch on social media in real time the impact WGD has on golf around the globe. I experienced first-hand how important it is to have new and existing female golfers participate in WGD events to build confidence, new friendships and skills that do last a lifetime. You don't have to be in the skateboarding scene to know and love the legend Tony Hawk. Not only is he the most accomplished professional skateboarder, but he is an innovator, entrepreneur, philanthropist, and all-around good guy. By 14, he'd turned pro, and by 16, he was widely considered the best skateboarder on earth. He was world champion 12 years in a row and is a 16-time X Games medalist. In 1999, he became the first skater to ever complete a 900, the holy grail of vert skating. He has invented over 100 tricks but retired from competition in 1999, with a few relapses. Why You Should Take a Free Ride in New York City or New Jersey This Year

The New Year's festivities in New York City is one of the largest in the world.

According to the National Safety Council (NSC), around 36% of all fatalities during the New Year's Holiday in 2019 involved a drunk driver. In fact, 2019 data from the City of New York indicates that there were 22 crashes involving a drunk driver over both New Year's Eve and New Year's Day. Most accidents happened before 8 AM on New Year's Day, and most involved an injury or fatality. 

From this data alone, it's easy to see why so many people are so adamant about driving safely during the New Year holiday. In the New Jersey/New York City area, it's especially important because of the high number of drunk driving related injuries and deaths.

How to Get Your Free Ride

If you find yourself drinking on New Year's Eve, simply get a ride in an Uber, Lyft, or taxi. Once you get to your final destination, send a copy of your receipt and your ID to the following address within 10 business days:

To qualify for a free Uber or Lyft ride, you must meet the following requirements:

  • The ride must be taken within the NYC or New Jersey metropolitan area;
  • You must be of legal drinking age (i.e. 21 or older);
  • Reimbursement is only valid for a single one-way ride;
  • The ride must be taken between 5 PM on December 31, 2022 and 10 AM on January 1, 2023; 
  • Reimbursement is limited to $30 including a 10% tip.

Keep in mind that reimbursements are limited to the first 100 submissions, so act fast!
